Oasis sells materials for craft
projects
|
|
|
John Sutton, Jean Mellott and Betty Wilson examine
some of the craft materials for sale today and tomorrow at Oasis
Senior Center. The sale
in the craft room (the last door on Kickapoo Street) will be open
until 4 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to noon tomorrow.
|
Ann LaForge, craft chairman for Oasis, and Dean
Baker, Oasis president, aren’t quite sure what this wooden item
found at the craft materials sale was originally designed to do, but
Baker decided he could find a use for it.

A Peter Hyams Film
Universal and Beacon Pictures
Written by Andrew W. Marlowe
[APRIL
28, 2000] I love
apocalyptic films. Let
me define apocalyptic for you:
the main feature is that it deals with the "end
times." There are two wholly American genres of apocalyptic films.
The first is the portrayal of the end times after a
full-scale global nuclear war (à la "Roadwarrior" and
"Terminator"). The
second is the quasi-Christian portrayal of the coming of the
anti-Christ and the destruction/salvation of mankind.
"End of Days" falls into this latter category.
