[AUG. 18, 2000]  Lt. Gov. Corinne Wood was in Lincoln on Thursday to tour the downtown Main Street Lincoln program, in an effort to fulfill her promise to visit all 55 Main Street sites in the state of Illinois. Her local visit, the final site in her tour, was intended to highlight the accomplishments of Lincoln’s Main Street program.

at the state fairgrounds

[AUG. 18, 2000]  Directly in front of the University of Illinois Extension building at the state fairgrounds, participants in the Master Gardener program have demonstrated imaginative ideas for adding flowers in typical flower borders and hard-to-plant areas, such as the narrow strip of land by the side of the road.
