Preened, prepped, ready and waiting.  Let the festivities begin! Perfect weather possibilities promise a perfect fun-filled weekend here in Lincoln.

Balloonists began arriving midweek.  About 14 balloons launched from the Maple Ridge area for a pre-festivities flight Thursday evening.

Many of the same balloonists return year after year to fly the Lincoln skyways.  Pictured here is the balloon "Tentai," sponsored by Lincoln Iron and Metal.  Jerry and Mary Ann (Ellis) Garcia of Albuquerque, N.M., own Tentai.  Mary Ann was born and raised in Lincoln.  The Garcias come every year, usually by way of a Nebraska stop first.  While here they visit with friends and family including Nick and Mary Ann’s sister Diane (Ellis) Turner.
