Opening day for District 27
schools will be Aug. 22

[JULY 26, 2000]  Opening day for Lincoln Elementary School District 27 this year has been scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 22. Students in grades kindergarten through six are to report to their respective schools at 8:30 a.m. on opening day, and Lincoln Junior High School students are to report at 8:15 a.m. School will be dismissed for grades one through eight at 10:30 a.m. at all buildings in the district on the first day. Kindergarteners will be dismissed at 10 a.m. on Aug. 22. All first through eighth grade students will be dismissed at 2:30 p.m. from Wednesday, Aug. 23, through Friday, Aug. 25.

District 27 kindergarten through sixth grade students will register on Aug. 2 and 3 and Northwest School, and seventh and eighth grade students will register at the junior high school. Registration hours at both sites will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Registration fees for the 2000-01 school year are as follows: kindergarten, $48; grades one and two, $63; grades three through eight, $58.

According to state law, before entering kindergarten and fifth grade, pupils must present a completed health card which has been signed by a licensed physician within the past year.

The school lunch program will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 23, at a cost of $1.25 per day. Students eligible for reduced price lunches will pay 40 cents per day.
