Ronald McCray

Ronald D. McCray, 69, of Lincoln died at 5:25 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at his residence.

Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 15, at 10:30 a.m. at Fricke-Calvert-

Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Tracy Thomas officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

McCray retired in 1984 from Ball-Incon, where he had worked in maintenance and machine repairs. He was self employed in his own auto salvage parts business for 25 years.

He was born Sept. 3, 1931, in Lincoln to Walter and Stella Flossie (Russell) McCray. He married Norma C. Karrick on Nov. 17, 1950, in Atlanta. She died Aug. 7, 1997.

Surviving are one son, Rod (and Debra) McCray of Atlanta; three daughters, Karen "Kay" Wolpert, Shirley (and Tim) O’Donoghue and Linda McCray, all of Lincoln; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Anderson of Lincoln and Betty Heckler of Riverton; and four brothers, Paul McCray of Lincoln, Kenneth McCray of Lincoln, LeRoy McCray of Lincoln and Harold McCray of Canyon Lake, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one great-grandson.

He was a member of Waynesville Christian Church in Waynesville.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Illinois.

Pansy Pirtle Parrish Holmes

Pansy Pirtle Parrish Holmes, 80, of Lincoln, formerly of Mounds, died at 5:20 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services will be Friday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m. at Spencer Heights Cemetery, Mounds, with the Rev. Jerry Herring officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds.

She owned and operated a beauty shop in Mounds for many years before she moved to Lincoln. She retired after being a beautician at Lincoln Developmental Center for many years.

She was born Jan. 20, 1920, in Bernie, Mo., to Theodore and Helen (Allen) Rice. She married Vance Pirtle. He died in 1957. She later married Lloyd Parrish. He died in 1981. She married Cleo Holmes in Jonesboro, Ark., on Aug. 7, 1995. He survives, in Lincoln.

Also surviving are one son, William (and Susan) Pirtle of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Leigh Pirtle of Chicago and Jason Pirtle of Lincoln; and one niece, Janice Bingham Crane.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and one sister, Margie Bingham.

She was a member of the Eastern Star.
