It's quiet entering the weight room at the Lincoln Recreational Center. "It's been quiet the last couple of days," says Jim Kleist.  Jim is just finishing up his regular four-days-a-week workout, and Mike McCabe is just starting his.
McCabe, who works as a supervisor at American Freightways, says he works out five days a week, "getting in shape, basically."  He been doing it 2½ years. Kleist has been working at keeping in shape since his high school years, and he says he does it "for stress relief and staying healthy."  He's employed by the Illinois State Police.
John Pozsgai (John didn't want his picture taken) strongly endorses the weight room.  He's been working out there for years and says, "You need to take time to work out. It's good for you." Pozsgai works for the Lincoln prison system.

[Jim Kleist finishes his workout with good old sit-ups.  He likes 'em with the added challenge the equipment provides.]

[Mike McCabe gets fired up working the triceps.]

[Mike good-naturedly strikes a pose.  Judging by those muscles, maybe those weights are heavier than they look!]

[Kleist works on biceps and triceps using free weights.]
