Alberta Altman

Alberta L. Altman, 80, of Lincoln died at 8:29 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Holland & Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln with the Rev. Connie Rieger officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Altman worked at Stetson’s in Lincoln, was owner of the Western Hotel and Tap, and also owned the Lincoln/Logan Vending Company.

She was born Feb. 15, 1920, at Mount Pulaski to George and Bertha (Stein) Diebert. She married Floyd Altman on Jan. 15, 1951, at Grant, Miss. He died Dec. 6, 1986.

Surviving are two sons, (Joe) David Altman of Lincoln and Richard Hopp of Lincoln; four daughters, Linda Crum of Waynesville, Wanda Gower of Lincoln, Debbie Bartmann of Lincoln and Terry DuVall of Lincoln; three stepdaughters, Annie Boyer of Middletown, Judy Kindred of Lincoln and Carol Altman of Lincoln; one stepson, Richard Altman of Lincoln; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, one child, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski.

Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
