  • 8/31, 11:00 p.m.; $425 in $50s and $20s and a gray vinyl purse containing a brush, pictures and hand lotion were stolen from a vehicle on the 600 block of Sixth Street

Criminal damage to property over $300

  • 8/31; metal signs marking the 00 and 150 lines were torn down, mesh netting dividing the area for golfers was damaged, metal siding on the west side of the building was dented in, and the doorknob to the weight room was bent in Wednesday night or early Thursday morning at the recreation center

Criminal damage to property under $300

  • 8/31, 12:02 p.m.; male, 41, 1200 block of Pekin Street; damage to the windshield of a brown 1995 Buick; arrested at residence
  • 8/31, 11:00 p.m.; a maroon 1997 Chevy Malibu was damaged while driving westbound on Lincoln Parkway; paint and antennae were damaged when the vehicle hit a block wire strung across the road

Domestic battery

  • 8/31, 12:17 p.m.; male, 41, 700 block of Tremont; arrested at residence, no contact with victim for 72 hours
  • 8/31, 1:10 p.m.; male, 41, 1200 block of Pekin Street; assault; arrested at residence

In-state warrant

  • 8/30, 10:59 p.m.; male, 24, 200 block of Decatur Street; driving while license suspended; arrested at Sheridan Street
  • 8/31, 7:56 p.m.; male, 40, 500 block of South Madison Street; failure to appear; arrested at Chicago and Pulaski streets, held in lieu of bond

Motor vehicle theft

  • 8/31; a white 1993 Buick Regal was stolen from the 700 block of Grand Avenue

Theft under $300

  • 8/31; a green Murray mountain bike with green on the center bars was stolen early yesterday morning from the 500 block of South Elm Street

Criminal damage to a vehicle under $300

  • 8/30; the driver’s window of a blue Ford was smashed while the vehicle was parked on Third Street

Theft from a vehicle under $300

  • 8/30, a black cell phone, credit card, man’s wallet and instruction manual for a 1998 Ford were stolen from a car while it was parked on Ninth Street

Theft over $300

  • 8/30, a multicolored GT Vertigo bike was borrowed from Centennial Court and returned; no charges were pressed because it was a misunderstanding

Theft under $300

  • 8/30, a 20-inch Mongoose "Ko" bike was stolen from a porch on the 800 block of Clinton Street; the bike is black with red brake handles, a red mongoose on the seat, and two-inch pegs
