Police to fire
to rid Mayfair
6, 2000] A
program to disperse the large flocks of birds that have become a
nuisance and a health hazard in Mayfair may begin as early as this
evening, with the firing of "bird-bangers" that explode
with a loud noise, according to Lincoln Police Chief Richard Ludolph.
The noise-making devices will be fired approximately every five
minutes from about 6:40 to 7:20 p.m. to discourage the birds from
roosting in trees in Mayfair and send them out into the countryside.

Your Own Living Trust"
[SEPT. 6, 2000]
his book "Make Your Own Living Trust," Denis Clifford explains how to
create a legal document known as a living trust. These documents help you
maximize the amount of your estate that you can leave to your heirs by avoiding
the costly and time-consuming process of probate court and estate taxes. The
author writes that a living trust "enables people with small or moderate
estates…to transfer their property after their death to whomever they want to
have it, without any attorneys or court involvement."

September wasn’t looking
like a great month for movie rentals. This week’s releases included only two
movies at my local video store: this movie about football, and a slasher movie
with a guy on the cover holding a big knife and sporting a moronic look on his
face. It felt a little like choosing candidates for the upcoming presidential
election. So, I flipped a coin and checked out with the football film.
