Railers' first game

[AUG 26, 2000]  Lincoln Railers took to the field Friday night for their first game of the season against Olympia, but failed in their attempt with a final score of 40-6.  The loss was attributed the team’s defense.  They just lost too much yardage, was the observation.

During the game, junior Cole Wright was injured and carried off the field on a stretcher in the last minutes of the fourth quarter.  He lost his footing on an attempted kick return. With reported back pain, he was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Lincoln’s Superintendent Fred Plesé said Wright was treated and released and is expected to return to play in the near future.
