Gary Rogers

Gary W. Rogers, 38, of Lincoln died at 7:14 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at Maple Ridge Care Centre.

Cremation rites were accorded, and graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at Irish Grove Cemetery, Middletown. Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.

There is no visitation.

Rogers was a laborer at Precision Products in Lincoln.

Rogers was born March 25, 1962, in Lincoln to Jerold Max and E. Nancy "Tippy" (Shaw) Rogers. He married (Deloris) Dianne Wise on Dec. 15, 1982, in Lincoln. She survives.

Also surviving are two stepdaughters, Christy and Angela Wise of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; his stepfather, Ray Gross of Lincoln; and his half brother, Jimmy Dean Rogers of North Carolina.

He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Eagles Lodge of Lincoln.

Memorials may be made to the family.

 


Barbara Wilson

Barbara E. Wilson, 63, of Lincoln, formerly of Bloomington, died at 4:12 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at her home. She had been ill.

A private graveside service will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bloomington. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home of Bloomington is in charge of arrangements.

There is no visitation.

She was born July 12, 1937, at Bloomington to Alfred E. and Virginia Wilson.

One sister, Connie R. (James) Kerrick of Bloomington, survives.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Jack Smith

Jack Smith, 76, of Lincoln, died at 10:55 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, at Maple Ridge Health Care Centre in Lincoln.

His body was cremated.

Burial, with military rites, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.

Smith was a retired U.S. mail handler.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was born June 28, 1924, in Peoria to Ernie and Lena M. (Ushman) Smith. He married Barbara Prince Smith on Jan. 2, 1998, in Lincoln. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Janice Smith of Austin, Texas, and one sister, Lida Jeffers of Springfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made to World War II Memorial Fund.

Doris Sielaff

Doris Sielaff, 88, of formerly of Lincoln and Beason died on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, in Tampa, FL.

Funeral Services were held at Curry Funeral Home, in Tampa, yesterday.

Sielaff was born July 21, 1912, in Logan County to Wilbur and Belle Shaffer Montgomery.  She married Art Sielaff in Lincoln, but he preceded her in death.

Surviving her are one brother, Martin Montgomery of Canton, IL; one sister, Irma Paris of Tampa, FL; and three grandchildren.
