[Besides being the homecoming parade grand marshal, Mayor Dayle Eldredge gladly volunteered to take a pie in the face as part of fund-raising efforts by the village to build up the coffers for the Elkhart Sesquicentennial in 2005. Eldredge laughed, “As long as I’m in office, I can expect a pie or two!”]
