Further congratulations needed

5-18-02

To the editor:

I would like to congratulate all the Chester-East students receiving awards 5-16-02. You are a very talented student body and should be proud.

There were four students overlooked at the awards ceremony.

I’d like to extend a congratulations to Aaron Leesman Jr. for his participation and accomplishments in the wrestling co-op at Lincoln Junior High. Love you, Lil’ Aaron. We are proud of you.

A congratulations also to the three Chester-East Lincoln students that participated in the Lincoln Junior High softball co-op.

I know only two of the girls’ names. If someone knows all three names, please write in so they can receive their much-deserved but overlooked recognition.

A comment to Chester-East faculty and coaches. This was my first awards night ceremony to attend. I was impressed that "everyone" from the basketball team to the spelling bee winner was honored.

I thought not recognizing these co-op participants was a simple, careless oversight on your part. I found out after the ceremony that students participating in these co-ops are never recognized by you. It is such a shame. These students may not bring home banners to hang on the gym wall... BUT they DO participate as representatives of the Chester-East’s talented student body. You should treat them as such.

Please rethink this behavior in future years.

Sincerely,

Angie
