Dan Patterson

Dan R. Patterson, 62, of Bloomington, formerly of Atlanta, died at 6:35 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal.

Mr. Patterson will be cremated, and services will be scheduled later. Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Patterson was employed at Lucca’s Grill in Bloomington until he retired a few months ago.

He had served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was born Aug. 14, 1940, at Lincoln to Lloyd D. and Mary Lamb Patterson.

Surviving are his mother, of Lincoln; one brother, John Patterson of Lincoln; and one aunt, Gerry Freehill of Normal.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He was an avid chess player.


David Reed

A memorial service for David Earl Reed will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Craig Smith will officiate. A reception at the Depot in Lincoln will follow the service.

Mr. Reed, 50, of Lincoln died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

He was an assembler at Revere Ware in Clinton for 20 years.

He was born Oct. 4, 1952, in Streator to Frank and Phyllis Huber Reed. He married Kathleen Richards on Oct. 6, 1972, in Bloomington. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Alexander David Reed of Normal, and one brother, Richard Reed of Streator.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church of Lincoln and had attended Illinois State University and Lincoln Christian College.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Illinois, Logan County Animal Control and Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Helen Lolling

Helen Lolling, 83, of Hartsburg died at 7:14 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002, at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski.

A celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Hartsburg, with the Rev. David Russell officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln and on Saturday at the church during the hour before the service.

Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Lolling was a homemaker for her family.

She was born May 24, 1919, in Lincoln to Christopher and Lucille Petitt Dengler. She married Henry Lolling on Nov. 24, 1940, in Lincoln. He survives at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski.

Other survivors are two daughters, Virginia Frost of Lincoln and Sara (and John) Wilham of Heyworth; six grandchildren, Stephen Phillips of Lincoln, Denise Bartelmay of Strasburg, Ann Montcalm of Lincoln, Christopher Phillips of Normal, Michael Aper of Saybrook and Julie Aper of Fithian; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Pollock of Delavan.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Hartsburg and the Ladies Aid of the church.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family.

Memorials may be made to her church or to Vonderlieth Living Center.
