Special family film showing: 'Jesus' [APRIL 1, 2004] MIDDLETOWN -- In celebration of Easter, a special family film showing of the movie "Jesus" is scheduled for Saturday, April 3, at 10 a.m. at the Knapp Library and Museum, 101 S. Clinton in Middletown. The film, in color and 83 minutes in running time, was released by Warner Brothers. It is described as "the most remarkable story of passion, intrigue, pain and glory," as the viewer is taken back 2,000 years to the life of Jesus Christ. The Rev. Billy Graham described the film as "fascinating … a vivid portrayal." Time magazine noted the "meticulous attention to authenticity." Fulton J. Sheen, prior archbishop in the Roman Catholic Church, called it "a masterpiece … in color, motion and speech." The movie was researched for five years, created by the Cannes Film Festival award-winning producer John Heyman and a team of specialists, and filmed in over 200 locations in the Holy Land. There is no admission fee, and the public is invited. Note to children: "Grandmother Reads" Pat Miller will continue an observance of Easter on Saturday, April 10, at the library, but there is a change of time. Because of the annual Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m., Grandmother Miller will read at 11 a.m., not 10 a.m. as usual. Children ages 3 through 9 are cordially invited for learning and fun. [News release]
