The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also
open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.
The featured entree for the Thursday
potluck will be ham. Bring a dish to pass or a $3 donation. Lunch is
served at 11:30 a.m. There will be entertainment and time for
visiting with friends. The free lunch drawing is sponsored by Steak
Stay for Oasis-sponsored bingo at 1
p.m. and be eligible for prizes..
Early deadlines for van trips
Reservations must be made by Friday,
April 9, for both of the following events:
- "Kiss Me, Kate," University of
Illinois-Springfield, May 1
$45 for members and $40 for nonmembers covers transportation and
- "Vaudeville Follies," Myers
Dinner Theater, Hillsboro, Ind., May 12
$45 for members and $47 for nonmembers covers transportation,
lunch and show ticket.

The Oasis senior center won the
pinochle challenge with the Springfield senior center on March 31
and returned with the "Pinochle Bell Trophy." Congratulations to all
Linda Hughes and Esther Will won
weekend pinochle honors. Christine March and Mable Hoagland won
weekday honors. Ella Graney and Louise Weibers won 5 in 1.
