Lincoln Park District notes     Send a link to a friend

[APRIL 9, 2004]  Your Lincoln Park District will be offering Basic Dog Obedience on Sunday afternoons. Classes will begin at 2 p.m. and last for one hour. You will need proof of inoculation, a chain or choke collar, and a 6-foot nonretractable leash. The owner-handler must be at least 8 years of age.

Mike Beiser, owner of Canine Training Institute, will be our instructor. He has been training police dogs professionally for a number of years. We welcome Mr. Beiser back to the Lincoln Park District and sincerely appreciate his sharing of time and expertise.

Our summer brochure will be published in Lincoln Daily News. Our target date is early May. Check often to see what we have in mind for a fun-filled summer.

We are going to try something new this summer. We are offering our tee ball program on Saturday mornings. We have never done this before, so the details will be a little sketchy. Ideally we want to start at 8 a.m., before it gets too hot in the day. Diamond availability will be very difficult to schedule. In a worst-case scenario we might have to play in the grassy area by the BMX track. Michelle Young and Laura Verderber will be our coaches this season.
