Balloons make power play       Send a link to a friend

[APRIL 19, 2004]  Portions of Lincoln experienced various measures of power loss Saturday evening. The incident began around 7 p.m. Some noticed just a brief flicker that tripped some electrical clocks and settings. Others were in the dark for a period of about an hour and a half.

Technicians were called downtown to reset 911 emergency equipment at the Logan County Safety Complex.

The day was quite windy with wind advisories even into the evening.

The power outages were caused when balloons released at Lincoln Christian Church blew a transformer.
