Austin Bahn

Austin Verneil Bahn, 33, of Lincoln died Saturday (April 17, 2004) at 5:30 p.m. at his home.

His funeral was on Wednesday morning at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark Peters officiating. Visitation was on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial is in Laenna Cemetery, Chestnut.

Mr. Bahn worked as a Lincoln fireman, with the Logan County Paramedic Association and for the Regional Organ Bank of Illinois.

He was born Oct. 7, 1970, in Lincoln to Verneil and Kathryn Bergman Bahn. He married Christine Gallagher on Sept. 25, 1999, in Springfield.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; two sons, Aaron Bahn and Austin Catey, both at home; one daughter, Ashley Catey, at home; his parents, of Chestnut; and one sister, Renae (and Rodney) Williams of Edinburg.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Chestnut.

He was a volunteer for Camp CILCA at Cantrall.

Memorials may be made to an education fund for his children.

Marjorie Smith

Marjorie R. Smith, 67, of McLean died Sunday (April 18, 2004) at 11:27 p.m. at BroMenn Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the McLean Christian Church, and her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Tony Billingsley will officiate.

Burial will be in McLean Cemetery.

Quiram Funeral Home of Atlanta is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker.

She was born Nov. 9, 1936, at Lincoln to William and Ruby Taylor Cates. She married Sam R. Smith on Oct. 10, 1954, at Armington.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Susan R. Smith of McLean; one son, Bobby (and Kelly) Smith of McLean; and two granddaughters, Caroline Smith and Sydney Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son and one brother.

She was a member of the McLean Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to the church or to the McLean Rescue Squad.
