House Bill 752
Concerning: Schools
Description: Requires all children in
kindergarten and the second and sixth grades of any public, private
or parochial school to have a dental examination. Provides that if a
child in the second or sixth grade fails to present proof of having
been examined by a dentist by May 15 of the school year, the school
may hold the child's report card until one of the following occurs:
(1) The child presents proof of a completed dental examination; or
(2) the child presents proof that a dental examination will take
place within 60 days after May 15. Requires the Department of Public
Health to establish, by rule, a waiver for children who show an
undue burden or lack of access to a dentist.

Senate Bill 2887
Concerning: Professional regulation
Description: Amends the Real Estate
License Act of 2000. Defines "exclusive brokerage agreement."
Deletes language that exempts applicants from the education
requirements to obtain an original or sales license in cases when
the applicants show evidence of receiving a baccalaureate degree
including courses involving real estate or related material from a
college or university approved by the Advisory Council. Provides
that any person licensed as a broker shall be entitled at any
renewal date to change his or her license status from broker to
sales person. Makes changes in provisions concerning continuing
education requirements. Specifies minimum services that must be
provided by the sponsoring broker and that the minimum services must
be specified in the exclusive brokerage agreement. Adds failing to
provide these minimum services to the list of disciplinary grounds
under the act.

House Bill 4977
Concerning: Taxpayers
Description: Amends the Taxpayers' Bill
of Rights Act. Provides that in the case of an audit, if no
violations are found, the department shall provide the taxpayer a
closing letter acknowledging this and thanking the taxpayer for
cooperating.
If there are changes, the auditor is required to provide in writing
the audit findings and, unless the taxpayer declines, the audit
methods and procedures. Requires an auditor to provide, at the
request of the taxpayer, written information as to what records
constitute the minimum requirements for record-keeping. Provides
that if the auditor recommends changes in the record-keeping
process, these recommendations must be provided in writing to the
taxpayer.

House Bill 5017
Concerning: Fire protection districts
Description: Authorizes certain powers
for boards of trustees of fire protection districts
Provides that firefighters hired by any
fire department within a fire protection district on or after the
effective date of the amendatory act may be required by the board of
trustees to be licensed as an EMT-B, EMT-I or EMT-P under the
Emergency Medical Services Systems Act.

House Bill 5215
Concerning: Schools
Description: Amends the School Code. In
a section requiring school districts that provide transportation on
buses owned by the district and operated by drivers who are employed
by the district to solicit sealed bids if the district receives a
request from an interested private school bus contractor, provides
that a district or special education cooperative is not required to
respond to such a request more than once every two years.
