[AUG. 25, 2004]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership.

Legal aid

If you need assistance with senior-related legal issues, call 732-6132 by 9:30 a.m. Thursday and we will try to schedule an appointment. There are still a few openings available between 10 and 11:30 a.m. that day.

Bingo

Bingo starts at 1 p.m. Thursday and is sponsored by St. Clara's Manor. There will be prizes, snacks and a lot of fun.

Lunch tickets

Pick up your $3.50 ticket by noon Friday for the Tuesday lunch of meat loaf, buttered noodles, broccoli, bread and butter, dessert, and drink.

SHARE orders ready on Friday

Remember to pick up your August orders from the Self Help and Resource Exchange between 4 and 5:30 p.m. Friday at Carroll Catholic School. You may also place your September orders then.

Games

Pinochle and table games will be in session Friday, starting at 6 p.m. in the back meeting room. This is the night for cake and ice cream.

Oasis will be closed Aug. 30

Mark your calendars for Monday. The senior center will be closed that day. Regular activities will resume on Tuesday, Aug. 31, at 9 a.m.

Hearing screening

Appointments are available Wednesday, Sept. 1, between 10 a.m. and noon, for hearing screenings. This free service is sponsored by Joyce Dearth of the Hearing Aid Center.

Winners

John Pelc won the monthly lunch drawing, sponsored by Stuffed Aria Pizza.

Joann Eckert and Mable Hoagland were the weekly pinochle winners. Christine March and Doris Steffens won on the weekend. Ella Lee Graney and Betty Burger won 5 in 1.
