SAN JOSE -- Mayme Gertrude Bruns,
84, of San Jose died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at 8:28 p.m. at
Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7
p.m. Wednesday at the San Jose United Methodist Church. Her
funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the
Rev. Don Doty officiating.
Burial will be in Green Hill
Cemetery, rural San Jose.
Mrs. Bruns was a homemaker and
farmer's wife.
She was born Oct. 10, 1919, in
Logan County to Harry and Gertie Eeten Klokkenga. She married
Lawrence Bruns on Feb. 19, 1944, in Emden. He died in 1988.
She is survived by two daughters,
Esther Bruns and Faye Bruns, both of Springfield; one
granddaughter, Trudi Hopkins of San Jose; one brother, Harry
(and Joanne) Klokkenga; and two sisters, Ruth Klokkenga and
Helen (and Robert) Zumwalt.
She was also preceded in death by
one daughter, Carol Logan, and one sister, Florence Lolling.
She was a member of the San Jose
United Methodist Church and a past member of the San Jose
Women's Club.
Memorials may be made to the church.

LINCOLN -- Clifford E.
Reed, 66, of Lincoln died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at 2:05
a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
His body was cremated and
no services are planned.
Holland and Barry Funeral
Home of Lincoln handled arrangements.
He was an automotive
route salesman and had worked at Lincoln Developmental Center
for three years.
He was a U.S. Army
veteran, serving from 1956 through 1962 in Battery "B," 1st
Missile Battalion of the 43rd Artillery Unit.
He was born Dec. 12,
1937, in Lincoln to Clifford L. and Goldie Olive Mahoney Reed.
He married Phyllis Loretta Paoni on Dec. 27, 1984, at Ste.
Genevieve, Mo.
He is survived by his
wife, of Lincoln; one son, Lee Reed of Lincoln; two daughters,
Vicki Reed and Shannon Reed, both of Lincoln; one
stepdaughter, Jennifer (and husband Jeff) Krick of Athens; and
six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death
by his parents.
He was of the Christian
faith.
He was a member of the
Imperial Council of the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of
the Mystic Shrine and Mount Pulaski Commandery 39 of Illinois.
