Central College spoiled the season opener for Lincoln College in
women's soccer at Lincoln Monday afternoon, 6-1. The Lynx will be in
action again Thursday, when they take on Springfield College in
Claudia Pineda scored the lone
Lynx goal in the second half when she picked up the ball at the top
of the box and blasted it into the upper corner.
Illinois Central dominated the
first half and built a 4-0 lead. ICC scored its first goal at the
18th minute, when Knobloch slipped a ball past LC goalie Courtney
Baumann. Knobloch scored two more first-half goals before Mandy
Soklowske scored the fourth of the half.
ICC opened the second half with
goals by Driscoll and Soklowske before LC got on the board.

"I felt that we played with
heart and showed toughness, but we must start games with the
intensity we finished this one with," said Lincoln College coach
Aaron Paskvan. "We will learn from this game and hope for better
Chris Rivera of the Lincoln team sustained a knee injury with 25
minutes left in the first half and was unable to return.
