James Augustine starts the rout by draining two free throws in last night's thrilling 91-73 drubbing of previously unbeaten No. 1 Wake Forest. It was the first time Illinois had beaten a No. 1 since they upset the Michigan State Spartans and Magic Johnson, the eventual national champs, in January of 1979.

Dee Brown, Luther Head, Nick Smith and Roger Powell demonstrate a suffocating defensive pressure and presence unfamiliar to ACC teams like Wake Forest. The IIlini held the Demon Deacons to UNDER 40 PERCENT shooting for the game.

More suffocation.

Illini coach Bruce Weber tells commentator Steve Bardo, an Illini legend himself, exactly how he drew it up.

This is actually a better one of Weber and Bardo.
