[DEC. 6, 2004]  Buy books and gifts at up to 70 percent off retail prices and support the Lifeline program. This simple premise is behind a book fair sponsored by the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and scheduled for Dec. 20 and 21. Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, in Conference Room A at ALMH.

Books Are Fun, a Reader's Digest company, will have hundreds of books and gift items for purchase. Books Are Fun accepts cash, all credit and debit cards, and checks.

The Books Are Fun BookFair is a twice-yearly activity sponsored by the ALMH Auxiliary, which has supported the Lifeline program for 23 years through various fund-raising activities. Lifeline provides 24-hour monitoring services primarily for the elderly, but also for individuals with severe health issues or challenges.

For more information about the book fair, Lifeline or the ALMH Auxiliary, contact Barbara Dahm, director of volunteers and special services, at (217) 732-2161, ext. 185, or stop in and see her Monday through Friday at the newly named In the Pink Gift Shoppe.
