LINCOLN -- William H. "Bill"
Schneider, 73, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at
3:10 p.m. in Memorial Medical Center in
Springfield.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7
p.m. Friday at Peasley Funeral Home. A prayer service will be
at 4 p.m.
His funeral will be at 10:30
a.m. Saturday at Peasley Funeral Home, with the Rev. R.
Anthony Lee officiating.
Burial, with military rites,
will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Mr. Schneider worked in
construction for 40 years as a bricklayer for R.B. Evans and
Givan & Wyles Construction.
He served in the U.S. Army from
1951 until 1953, during the Korean War, and received a Bronze
Star.
He was born Dec. 11, 1930, in
Lincoln to Charles and Mabel Etterlein Schneider. He married
Marilyn Krznar on April 24, 1954, in Lincoln. She survives.
Other survivors are three sons,
Michael Schneider of
Springfield, Richard (and Tena)
Schneider of Lincoln and Joe (Bridget) Schneider of Lincoln;
six grandchildren; and one sister, Elizabeth Wyles of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his
parents and one sister.
He attended Holy Family Church. He was a member
of American Legion Post 263, Disabled American Veterans and
the Bricklayers Union.

LINCOLN -- Edward M. Barry,
61, of Elkhart, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at 12:30 p.m. at
Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8
p.m. Friday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m.
Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Phillip Blackburn
officiating.
Burial will be in Irish Grove
Cemetery, Middletown.
Mr. Barry was funeral director
at Holland and Barry for 25 years. He was also Logan County
coroner for 21 years and deputy coroner for 12 years.
He was born March 4, 1943, in
Lincoln to H. John and Ruth Ann Johnson Barry. He married
Karla D. Hurley on Aug. 12, 1995, in Colorado. She survives,
in Littleton, Colo.
Other survivors are his
mother, of Lincoln; two stepsons, Patrick Hurley of Denver,
Colo., and Ryan Hurley of Honolulu, Hawaii; and one brother,
Robert J. Barry of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by
his father, H. John Barry.
He was a charter member of the
National Registry Board of Emergency Medical Technicians, a
member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lincoln, Lincoln
Lodge 210 AF & AM, Lincoln York Rite Bodies, Scottish Rite
Bodies of Springfield, Ansar Shrine, Royal Order of Jesters,
Sigma Chi Fraternity, Lincoln Kiwanis and a past president of
the Logan County Shrine Club.
He was an avid hunter and
participated in Ducks Unlimited and Quail Unlimited.
He graduated from Lincoln
Community High School in 1961, from Hanover (Ind.) College in
1965 and from the Cincinnati (Ohio) College of Mortuary
Science in 1967.
Memorials may be made to the
First Presbyterian Church.
