Logan County residents' ornaments decorate courthouse Christmas tree

[DEC. 10, 2004]  The Logan County Christmas tree project in the Logan County Courthouse is being sponsored by Logan County residents again this holiday season. The 12-foot tree is displayed annually throughout the holiday season, beginning in November. Ornaments have all been donated by area residents.

Churches, businesses, families, schools, service clubs, organizations and individuals are again encouraged to donate an ornament.

• The ornament should not exceed 6 inches square or weigh more than 8 ounces.

• All ornaments must be submitted in an appropriate box for future storage.

• All ornaments will be identified, labeled and recorded in a permanent register on display at the tree location.

This year people are encouraged to donate pictures of individuals or family members for display as "photo ornaments." Please submit photos, with identification, in an envelope. Frames will be handmade to fit the photographs. Each photo ornament will be identified, labeled and recorded in the permanent register displayed at the tree location. The photo ornaments will be stored with the other ornaments and displayed year after year.

2004 Logan County Christmas tree project information

Your support is needed in decorating the 12-foot county Christmas tree in the Logan County Courthouse rotunda again this holiday season. This is the season for the community project. Donated ornaments from 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 will also be displayed on the tree.

Photos of families, individuals, businesses, churches and schools are being accepted for photo ornaments. Frames will be handmade to fit your photo. Photos should not exceed 5 by 7 inches.

Ornaments should not exceed 6 inches square or weigh more than 8 ounces.

When submitting an ornament or a photo to be framed:

1. Complete the information label. [Click here for label sheet.] Each ornament or photo must be accompanied with a label information sheet.

2. Place the ornament in an appropriate-sized box with the label sheet.

3. Place the photo in an envelope with the label sheet.

4. Bring completed, boxed ornament or enveloped photo to the security desk at the Logan County Courthouse.
