[DEC. 13, 2004]  Low pressure will pull away from the Great Lakes region today, allowing a gradual weakening of the pressure gradient across central Illinois. This will allow a decrease in wind speed through the day. Northwest winds had generally fallen below wind advisory criteria early this morning, with a few gusts to near 40 mph lingering.

The wind advisory has been canceled for the counties of Champaign, DeWitt, Fulton, Knox, Logan, Marshall, Mason, McLean, Peoria, Piatt, Stark, Tazewell, Vermilion, Woodford, including the cities of Bloomington, Champaign, Danville, Galesburg, Havana, Lincoln and Peoria.

It will still be windy, however, with speeds in the 20 to 30 mph range today.
