The move has been a
long time coming, and the organization is pleased to finally see
this step being taken. It will enable The Salvation Army to continue
and also expand the types of assistance offered to needy residents
of Logan County.
The Salvation Army
director, Capt. Dean Sanders, stated that this tremendous
accomplishment is due in large measure to the wonderful support
given by so many residents of Logan County. He expressed great
appreciation for all those who gave so generously to see the new
Salvation Army center built.
The shelter aspect of
the Keest Center will not be operational until probably this coming
spring.

At this point there is
still approximately $90,000 needed to reach the original goal of
$700,000.
The Salvation Army has
also applied for matching grant funds to secure additional dollars
with which to provide continued assistance for food, clothing,
utility, rent and health care costs to clients as well as assist in
providing funds that will be needed to operate the homeless shelter.
An open house will be
scheduled at a later date.
