LINCOLN -- Eleanor Wertin, 86,
of Lincoln, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at 11:20 p.m. at St.
Clara's Manor.
Her body was cremated.
A graveside service will be at
1 p.m. Tuesday at New Union Cemetery, with the Rev. Mark
Carnahan officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home of Lincoln handled arrangements.
Mrs. Wertin was a retired
bookkeeper.
She was born Oct. 29, 1918, in
Springfield to Oscar and Lydia Yagow Lenz. She married Matthew
Wertin on Jan. 4, 1942, in Lincoln.
She is survived by her
husband, of Lincoln, and one daughter, Jan (and Roby) Parks of
Springfield.
A son preceded her in death.
She was a member of Zion
Lutheran Church in Lincoln and the Lincoln Woman's Club.
Memorials may be made to the
American Cancer Society.

CHESTNUT -- Raymond Lee Obzut,
64, of Chestnut, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at 8:44 p.m. at
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4
p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski. His funeral will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral
home, with John Robertson officiating.
Burial will be in Laenna
Cemetery, Chestnut, at a later date.
Mr. Obzut retired from
Chestnut Farmer's Grain.
He was born May 17, 1940, in
Baltimore, Md., to Rudy and May Duffy Obzut. He married Glenda
Hoback in Baltimore on Dec. 24, 1958.
He is survived by his wife, of
Chestnut; one son, Raymond (and Melissa) Obzut Jr. of Mount
Pulaski; one daughter, Mary (and Keith) Manner of Berlin, Md.,
three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister,
Shirley M. Obzut of Baltimore, Md.
A granddaughter preceded him
in death.
He was of the Christian faith
and was a member of the Chestnut Men's Club.
