How you can help earthquake and tsunami victims     Send a link to a friend

[DEC. 31, 2004]  The earthquake and following tsunami of Sunday, Dec. 26, has taken the lives of over 100,000 and left millions in peril. You read, hear and see the still-mounting suffering, devastation and death toll daily in the news. You want to help. But how do you do that responsibly? You want those that need the most to get the most from your contribution.

Below are some resources and websites to help you make your choice:

    The American Red Cross provides supplies and relief workers to disaster areas worldwide and accepts contributions through its website, by calling (800) HELP-NOW or by mailing donations to Red Cross International Response Fund, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013.

  • www.doctorswithoutborders.org
    Doctors Without Borders provides medical services and assistance to areas affected by disaster. Donations can be made online at by calling (212) 679-6800 or by mailing contributions to 333 Seventh Ave., Second Floor, New York, NY 10001.
