[FEB. 11, 2004]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership.

Thursday potluck and bingo

The Thursday potluck, starting at 11:30 a.m., will feature casseroles, side dishes and desserts. Bring a dish to pass or a $3 donation.

The Oasis will sponsor the weekly bingo games starting at 1 p.m. Thursday. Prizes and an afternoon of fun are planned.

Tuesday lunch reservations

Due to holiday closings, lunch reservations for Feb. 17 need to be made before 4 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 12). Lunch will include breaded pork chops, wild rice, green beans, salad, drink and dessert. Donation is $3.50.

Oasis holiday schedule

The Oasis will be closed Friday, Feb. 13, and Monday, Feb. 16, for Lincoln’s and Washington’s birthdays. Please mark your calendars. The 6 p.m. games with potluck meal remain scheduled.

Think tank special educational program

Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 9 a.m. Dan Fulscher, director of Logan County 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System Board, will provide information on the issues concerning the 9-1-1 referendum on the March 16 ballot. The advantages for the public with the proposed agreement between the county of Logan, city of Lincoln and Logan County Emergency Telephone System Board for centralized dispatch services will be addressed, along with your concerns. Reservations are not necessary.
