[FEB. 25, 2004]  NORMAL -- Illinois State's Chris Burras has been suspended indefinitely from the men's basketball team due to conduct detrimental to the team. The announcement was made on Tuesday.

"Based on the environment and direction that is being established in our program, I felt that it was in the best interest that Chris no longer be with us for the remainder of the season," Illinois State head coach Porter Moser said. "We will discuss further opportunities at a later date. Right now, our focus is on winning our final three regular-season games and to build momentum heading into the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament."

Burras played in 21 games, all as a reserve. He was averaging 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds per game, while logging 14.2 minutes per contest.
