WINTER STORM TO THREATEN
ILLINOIS TONIGHT & SUNDAY. The national
weather service has issued a winter storm watch in effect from this evening
to Sunday afternoon.
Snow.sleet & freezing rain will spread into Central Illinois tonight &
persist through much of sunday. The steadiest precipitation can be expected
between midnight tonight & midday sunday. Current indications suggest the
main heavy snow threat will be no. Of a line from Canton to Bloomington
normal. Six inches or more of snow is possible in this area. Current
indications suggest the main sleet & freezing rain threat will be no. Of a
line from Springfield to Danville & so. Of the heavy snow area.
A winter storm watch is issued when severe winter weather is possible.but
not imminent. At the time.there is a potential for significant snow & or ice
accumulations. Future driving & walking conditions may become hazardous.so
it is important to monitor the latest forecasts.
