Girl Scout cookies are coming

Orders taken Jan. 9-24        Send a link to a friend

[JAN. 8, 2004]  SPRINGFIELD -- It's Girl Scout cookie time again! This year, Girl Scouts are introducing a new cookie called Piņatas. Made with real strawberries, Piņatas are iced on the bottom and topped with strawberry jam, a touch of cinnamon crumbs and white sugar icing.

All eight varieties of Girl Scout cookies will be available to order through Girl Scouts, Land of Lincoln Council Jan. 9-24. Delivery will begin Feb. 14.

For $3 a box, you can stock up on Thin Mints, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Shortbreads, Peanut Butter Patties, Reduced Fat Lemon Pastry Cremes, Animal Treasures and Piņatas.

When you buy a box of Girl Scout cookies, you shape the future by helping girls grow strong. The Girl Scout cookie program teaches girls all kinds of important life skills, such as planning, goal-setting, communicating with others, teamwork and economic independence.
