Elsas scores for first-place Team Illinois     Send a link to a friend

[JAN. 12, 2004]  Lincoln Gator Brennan Elsas competed in Mid-States this past weekend in Indianapolis, Ind. Mid-States is an elite swim competition between five states. Swimmers with the fastest times in their state are chosen to compete. Brennan was one of 16 boys picked in his 9 and 10 age group.

For the first time in 15 years of competing, Team Illinois took first place. Brennan helped the team to their victory with 60 individual points. He placed sixth in the 100-yard fly and the 200-yard free. He placed seventh in the 100-yard free and the 200-yard IM. Brennan also swam in the 200-yard free relay that took second place for 38 points.

Heidi Heidbreder is head coach for the Lincoln Gator team.

The Gators practice at the Lincoln College pool.
