Raymond Begolka
Raymond G. Begolka, 93, of
Lincoln died Thursday (Jan. 22, 2004) at 6:57 p.m. at Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7
p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
His funeral will be at 1:30
p.m. Tuesday at St. John United Church of Christ in Lincoln, with
the Rev. Richard Reinwald and the Rev. Wallace Reifsteck
officiating.
Burial will be in New Union
Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mr. Begolka farmed in Eminence
Township for 75 years.
He was born April 11, 1910, in
Saybrook to Max R. and Louisa Haas Begolka. He married Evelyn
Coleman on Dec. 4, 1955, in Tampa, Fla.
Survivors are his wife, of
Lincoln; one son, Donald Begolka of Lincoln; and one daughter,
Darlene Begolka of Lincoln.
He was the last of his
immediate family and was preceded in death by three brothers,
Arthur, Walter and Harry Begolka; and five sisters, Rose (infant),
Lillie Begolka, Emma Opperman, Dorothy Robinson and Annie Loercher.
He was a member of St. John
United Church of Christ and the Brotherhood of the church. He was
also a member of Logan Railsplitting Association and Logan County
Farm Bureau.

Wesley Zimmerman
Wesley Martin Zimmerman, 79, of Mason
City, died Thursday (Jan. 22, 2004) at 1:50 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
His funeral was Saturday
morning at Mason City Cemetery, with Nash Shawgo officiating. Military rites
were conducted at the end of the graveside service.
There was no visitation.
Hurley Funeral Home of Mason City handled arrangements.
Mr. Zimmerman worked for 30 years as a
clerk for the Salvation Army in Springfield before retiring at age
65.
He served with the U.S. Army in Italy
during World War
II and received a Purple Heart.
He was born Jan. 13, 1925, in Mason
City to Peter and Ruth Thomas Zimmerman.
He graduated from Mason City High
School and attended Indiana State University.

Kenneth Booth
Kenneth W. Booth, 95, of Minier died
Wednesday (Jan. 21, 2004) at 12:50 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian
Home of Eureka.
His funeral was Saturday morning at Armington
Christian Church, with Ed Loyd and Harold Williamson
officiating.
Burial is in Minier Cemetery.
Quiram Funeral Home of Atlanta handled arrangements.
Mr. Booth was a lifetime farmer. He
retired in 1992.
He was born July 9, 1908, near Minier
in Little Mackinaw Township, Tazewell County, to Harrison and Myrtle
Gainer Booth. He marred Jessie Irene Orr on June 24, 1933, at rural
Armington. She died Sept. 11, 2003.
Survivors are two daughters, Kathryn
(and Kenneth) Frus of Washington and Martha (and Larry) Paustian of
East Peoria; and three granddaughters, Carolyn Frus, Janet Frus and
Ashley Paustian.
He was a former board member of the
Hittle Township High School and the Armington Christian Church,
where he also served as a deacon.

Thelma Hasler
Thelma Lorene Hasler, 96, formerly of
Latham, died Friday (Jan. 23, 2004) at 5:09 a.m. at Vonderlieth
Living Center in Mount Pulaski.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m.
Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Her
funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev.
Carol Andricks officiating.
A graveside service will be at 1:30
p.m. Monday at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
Miss Hasler was a cook at a University
of Illinois dormitory in Urbana for almost 27 years.
She was born Jan. 29, 1907, in Richland
County.
Survivors are one brother, Melvin
Hasler of Rankin; 11 nieces; three nephews; and many great-nieces
and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, Christian Ellis and Nellis Edith Atkins Hasler, and by
three brothers and one sister.
She was a member of Grace United
Methodist Church in Urbana and attended a Sunday school class there.
She was a 65-year member of the Rebekah Circle, a member of the
Champaign County Past Noble Grand Club, a 20-year member of the RSVP
Volunteers, and a member of the Urbana Senior Citizens Club and
Urbana Business Women's Club.

Grace United Methodist Church, Urbana.

Mary Manus
Mary Margaret Manus, 72, of San Jose
died Wednesday (Jan. 21, 2004) at 3:32 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital.
Her funeral will be at 3
p.m. Saturday at San Jose United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Larry Maffett
officiating. Visitation was on Friday at the church.
Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery,
rural San Jose.

Mrs. Manus was a homemaker.
She was born Aug. 11, 1931, at Green
Valley to Ray C. and Zelma DePue Worstall. She married Carlyle C.
Manus on May 6, 1950, in San Jose.
Survivors are her husband; one son,
Gregory (and Rhonda) Manus of San Jose; three daughters, Carla (and
Rick) Sellers of San Jose, Vicki (and Bruce) Kammeyer of Clinton and
Carol (and Russell) Hancock of San Jose; eight grandchildren; and
three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents.
She was a member of San Jose United
Methodist Church, San Jose Home Extension and the Lions Club.

Williams
Helen I. Williams, 80, of Mason City
died Wednesday (Jan. 21, 2004) at 7:15 a.m. at Mason City Area
Nursing Home.
Her funeral was Saturday morning
at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City, with Pastor Curt McCallister
officiating. Visitation preceded the service.
Burial is in Kilbourne Cemetery.
She retired in 1985 from Caterpillar in
East Peoria after 17 years with the company.
She was born July 3, 1923, at Kilbourne
to Albert and Velma Madison Sears.
Survivors are two sons, Gary (and Kay)
Zimmerman of Mason City and Roger (and Barb) Zimmerman of Mason
City; two daughters, Sheila (and Curt) McCallister of Mason City and
Karen (and Bruce) Hollibaugh of Decatur; four grandchildren; and
three great-grandchildren.
