[JULY 23, 2004]
NORMAL -- Signing
on for its 11th men's basketball season, WFMB-AM 1450 in Springfield
will continue to be a part of the Redbird Radio Network for Illinois
State men's basketball broadcasts during the 2004-05 athletic
season.

"When WFMB went to its all-sports
format 11 years ago, it was a natural fit for Illinois State to
reach to its alumni and fan base in the Springfield area," interim
director of athletics Linda Herman said. "But after working with
general manager Kevin O'Dea and his staff over the years, it has
developed into a rewarding partnership -- one that we are looking
forward to continue in the future."
Final formatting on which basketball
games will air has not yet taken place, since the Illinois State
schedule has yet to be released. A final broadcast schedule will be
issued at a later date.

"Clear Channel Radio-Springfield and
Sports Radio 1450 have enjoyed a long relationship with Illinois
State basketball," said O'Dea. "The response to airing the Redbird
games over the last several years has been very positive, especially
from area alumni. We look forward to a successful 2004-05 season and
many more in the years to come."
Other
Redbird Radio Network stations include flagship station WJBC-AM 1230
in Bloomington, WJEZ-FM 98.9 in Dwight, WZOE-AM 1490 in Princeton
and WDID-AM 1510 in Highland. According to Herman, negotiations are
ongoing with other stations throughout the state.
