Main Street Lincoln's new board members 'dedicated to the community'     Send a link to a friend

[JUNE 3, 2004]  Two local business owners have been elected to fill vacancies on the Main Street Lincoln board of directors.

Lesleigh Bennett, co-owner of Bennett Funeral Home with husband Christopher, is a new resident of Lincoln. She is also active with the Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce and Rotary. When asked what appealed to her about Main Street Lincoln, she cited "the support and livelihood it brings to downtown."

Daron Whitaker, owner of Whit's Lawn Center, Good Ol' Pest Control and Daron's Lawn Service, has been very active in the downtown business community. He said that Main Street Lincoln seems to have "great ideas" and he "would love to help" in its progress.

"Lesleigh's and Daron's dedication to the community and direct business involvement with our downtown will be a great asset to the Main Street Lincoln program," noted David Lanterman, president of the Main Street Lincoln board.

The organization is always seeking volunteers interested in improving downtown. Those interested can call the Main Street office at 732-2929.
