Harold 'Verne' Arney
Harold L. "Verne" Arney, 91, of
Springfield, formerly of Lincoln and Cornland, died June 1,
2004, at 5:35 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. The Rev. Mike
Robison will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the
service.
Burial will be in Mount Pulaski
Cemetery.
Mr. Arney was a retired teacher and
accountant.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War
II.
He was born March 3, 1913, to Rufus and
Edna Phares Arney in northern Sangamon County, near Cornland. He
married Melba Lanterman in May of 1939, and she died in February
1979. He married Marjory Robison in January 1986 and she died in
1990.
He is survived by one daughter, Marilyn
(and Dr. Matthew) Parrish of Rockford; one stepson, the Rev. Mike
(and Mary) Robison of East Peoria; one stepdaughter, Lila (and Jim)
Rhoades of Monticello; one grandson, Maxwell Parrish of Rockford;
seven stepgrandchildren, John Rhoades, Lara Rhoades, Amanda Rhoades,
Matt Robison, Mark Robison, Maryn Robison and Megan Oelgen; and one
step-great-granddaughter, Emma; and one sister, Julia Lercher of
Pekin.
He was also preceded in death by one
son, Buddy Arney; one daughter, Barbara Arney; one granddaughter,
Megan Parrish; and one brother, Joseph Arney.
He was of the Christian faith.

Mary Aue
Mary Ann Aue, 76, of Lincoln
died Saturday (June 5, 2004) at 3:45 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7
p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln,
following a prayer service at 3:30.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m.
Wednesday at Holy Family Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Thomas
Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in Holy Cross
Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mrs. Aue was a teller at
Lincoln Savings and Loan before she retired.
She was born Aug. 6, 1927, in
Terre Haute, Ind., to Edward and Alberta Hindes Holmes. She married
Robert Aue on Dec. 28, 1948, in Terre Haute, Ind. He died Dec. 17,
1997.
She is survived by three sons,
Tim Aue of Lincoln, Steve (and Elaine) Aue of Lincoln and Tom Aue of
Tampa Bay, Fla.; five grandchildren, Ryan, Justin, Amy, Kristan and
Nathan Aue; one great-grandchild, Brayton Aue; and one brother, Jack
Holmes of Indianapolis, Ind.
She was also preceded in death
by one granddaughter.
She was a member of Holy Family
Church in Lincoln.
She was active with Elks
Crippled Children, volunteered at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital
and enjoyed swimming.
Memorials may be made to Carroll Catholic School or Elks Crippled
Children's Foundation.
