"This is a good opportunity for the
public to obtain reasonably priced state property and other
equipment that has its usefulness to the state," said Curtis Howard,
manager of the Property Control Division of CMS.
Merchandise will be available for
inspection on Monday, June 14, and Tuesday, June 15, from 9 a.m. to
3 p.m. and beginning at 7 a.m. on auction day. Registration will
start at 6:30 a.m., and the sale will begin promptly at 8 a.m. on
June 16. There are no warranties or guarantees implied or expressed,
and all sales are final.
Bidders may pay for purchases with
cash, cashier's checks, money orders or traveler's checks in
increments of $100 or less. MasterCard and Visa are now being
accepted. Business or personal checks are also accepted, but these
checks must be supported by a letter of credit from a financial
institution that includes the maximum amount of credit approved
through a specific date. These letters should also state that they
cover the purchase price of state of Illinois property only. All
letters of credit must be approved prior to the sale. Two types of
identification must also be provided, including one with a
