Bluegrass, jazz and big band featured at fifth annual Central Illinois Food, Wine and Music Festival     Send a link to a friend

[JUNE 18, 2004]  The fifth annual Central Illinois Food, Wine and Music Festival is this Father's Day weekend, June 18, 19 and 20, on the courthouse square in Mount Pulaski. The weekend features plenty of shady breezes, relaxed tunes, happy food and drink, and loads of smiles.

Events and activities

  • Music
  • Friday, evening. -- Jazz and bluegrass, with three groups featured

  • Saturday, noon to 7 p.m. -- Bluegrass, with eight groups featured

  • Saturday, 7:30 p.m. -- Big band, featuring Don Smith and his orchestra with dancing under the tent

  • Food and wine, with four Illinois wineries represented, under the tent, south side of the square
  • Arts and crafts fair, south and west sides of the square
  • Dinners, 5-8 p.m., under the tent on the south side of the square
  • Friday -- Mostaccioli dinner by Community Pride; homemade ice cream and baked goods by the Methodist church

  • Saturday -- Pork chop dinner by the Catholic church; homemade ice cream and baked goods by the Methodist church

  • Breakfasts, 6-10 a.m., on the square
  • VFW Hall

  • Pulaski House Restaurant

  • Tours of Illinois historical courthouse
  • Bingo, starts at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, south side of the square
  • Soap Box Derby, north side of the square
    Friday, 5 p.m. -- Practice
    Saturday, 9 a.m. -- Racing
  • Father's Day ice cream social, 1:30 p.m. Sunday, on the courthouse lawn
  • Mount Pulaski Community Band concert

  • Homemade ice cream and baked goods by the Methodist Church

  • Friday -- Jazz and bluegrass

  • The Logan County Bluegrass Band, 5:30-6:30 p.m.

  • Vinegar Hill Brass -- jazz, 6:45-7:45 p.m.

  • Travis Wesley Trio -- jazz, 8-10 p.m.

  • Saturday, noon to 7 p.m. -- Seven hours of bluegrass, old-time music and clogging

  • Randy Erwin rope tricks, guitar and cowboy poetry

  • Long Creek Bluegrass Band

  • High Cotton

  • Heartland Cloggers

  • Irish Step Dancers

  • Cambric Garden

  • Dean Watson & His High Lonesome Band

  • Uptown String Band

  • Saturday, 7:30 p.m. -- Big band

  • Don Smith and his orchestra, with dancing under the tent

In case of rain, all events will be under the tents and in the buildings around the square.
