Harriet Talbert

Harriet W. Biggs Talbert, 78, of Lincoln died Saturday (June 19, 2004) at 4:45 a.m. at Maple Ridge Health Care Centre.

Her funeral was Tuesday morning at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Carroll Richards and Bob Twist officiating. Visitation was on Monday at the funeral home.

Burial is in Lawndale Cemetery.

Mrs. Talbert had worked at Lehn & Fink for 24 years before she retired. She was an inventory clerk.

She was born Aug. 7, 1925, at Emden to Frederick and Florentina Skonetski Logeman. She married Emmett Biggs on Nov. 18, 1952, and he died Sept. 8, 1986. She married Lawrence Talbert on Oct. 19, 1991, in Lincoln.

She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln: one son, Terry (and Donita) Biggs of Lincoln; one stepdaughter, Jan (and Perry) Hahn of Lincoln; two grandsons, Devin and David Biggs, both of Lincoln; and one brother, Lewis (and Ruth) Logeman of Emden.

She was also preceded in death by one brother.

She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Lincoln, the Cumberland Presbyterian Women of the Church and the Rebekah Lodge in Mason City.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Ida Jones

Ida Mae Jones, 85, of Lincoln died Sunday (June 20, 2004) at 4:15 a.m. at the Christian Village.

Her funeral will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Park Meadows Baptist Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. S.M. Davis officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 4:30 p.m. until the service time.

Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Thompsonville, with a graveside service at noon on Wednesday.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home of Lincoln is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Jones was a supervisor at Lincoln Developmental Center before she retired.

She was born Oct. 16, 1918, in Caraway, Ark., to John and Gertie Hill Wintz. She married James C. Jones on Aug. 27, 1937, in Mount Vernon, Ind. He died in 1991.

She is survived by two sons, John (and Elizabeth) Jones of San Jose and Larry (and Linda) Jones of Hartsburg; seven grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and three step-great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Imon Wintz of Kennewick, Wash.; and two sisters, Gladys Aaron of West Frankfort and Ora B. Otterson of Three Rivers, Mich.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Carl David; one grandson; one granddaughter; three brothers; and two sisters.

She was a member of Park Meadows Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the building fund at the church.
