Youth night out     Send a link to a friend

[MARCH 10, 2004]  Calling all youth fourth grade through high school. You are invited out for a night to speak your minds and then enjoy some stress-free fun.

Pat O'Neill, who serves on the Lincoln Youth Council, has put together a night at the Lincoln Recreation Center for you.

Saturday, March 13

  • 6-7:30 p.m. -- Forum with open exchange of ideas
  • 7:30 p.m. -- Dancing to music with DJ Joe Hackett
  • 7:30 p.m. -- Open use of the Lincoln Park District facilities, 1400 Primm Road

O'Neill will be there, and he says that a number of other city, county and other officials, including Mayor Beth Davis and Alderman Derrick Crane, will be stopping by to listen also. Parents, teachers and administrators are invited. Channel 5 will be taping the forum. The event is intended as a no-pressure opportunity to talk and discuss ideas in person and then have some fun.

Coke and Pepsi have supplied free beverages.

Anyone wishing to volunteer for setup, chaperoning during the dance and activities, or cleanup may call Pat O'Neill, (217) 732-9337.
