As participants in this junior high
conference, delegates attended workshops on community service
activities, involving youth with disabilities, public speaking, 4-H
opportunities and parliamentary procedure. The workshops were taught
by members of the Illinois 4-H youth leadership team. Delegates were
also involved in sessions highlighting teen challenges and 4-H
project "skill-a-thons" that they could take back to their 4-H
clubs.
The young
teens also enjoyed an evening of special entertainment by The Rip
Chords, a female a cappella group from the University of Illinois.
Keith Patterson, an Illinois 4-H alumni winner and motivational
speaker, closed the conference on Sunday morning.
