Firefighter Officer of the Year     Send a link to a friend

[MARCH 16, 2004]  Firefighter Jeff Singleton of the Lincoln City Fire Department has been chosen as Officer of the Year. Fire Chief Bucky Washam said that Singleton was chosen because he has done an outstanding job training and preparing his shift, and he always receives the highest evaluations possible.

Chief Washam said he used the following criteria in the selection process:

  1. Personal firefighter knowledge
  2. How they take care of the daily routine and details
  3. How prepared they are to handle daily training sessions
  4. Level of training sessions
  5. How self-motivated they are
  6. How proactive their thinking is toward firefighting
  7. How much they care about their firefighters being prepared to handle any and all emergencies
