Sara 'Sally' Buck
Sara "Sally" Jane Buck, 79, of McLean
died Monday (April 26, 2004) at 11:35 p.m. at BroMenn Regional
Medical Center in Normal.
A celebration of life
was on Saturday morning at the McLean United Methodist Church, with
the Rev. Alan Simonson officiating. Visitation was on Friday at the
Burial is in McLean Cemetery.
Quiram Funeral Home of Atlanta was in
charge of services.
Mrs. Buck was a homemaker.
She was born April 26, 1925, at Leland
to Wilmer N. and Janice Von Ohlen Farley. She married Robert D. Buck
on March 2, 1946, at Leland.
She is survived by her husband; two
sons, Scott F. (and Mary) Buck of Port Angeles, Wash., and William
D. (and Kimberly) Buck of McLean; two grandchildren, Susan Buck of
Seattle, Wash., and Lt. Matthew Buck, who recently returned from
Iraq; and one sister, Margaret (and Don) Hansen of Aurora.
She was preceded in death by her
She graduated from Leland High School
and worked at the Interstate Company in DeKalb for one year before
attending Illinois Wesleyan University, where she studied interior
design and was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta.
She met Bob Buck when he was a naval
aviation cadet and moved to McLean after their wedding.
She was active in the McLean United
Methodist Church and the Burger-Benedict American Legion Auxiliary
and was a good friend to many.
She enjoyed sewing and collecting
