and Lady Railers
The only info we had on the Railers is
that they won on Saturday and that the Lady Railers had two tough
games this weekend and more to play on Saturday. No further reports
Lakers upend Spurs
Lincoln's Brian Cook netted two points,
two rebounds and two fouls in five minutes of action in Sunday's
105-91 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. The Lakers climbed back
into contention in the series, trailing the Spurs 2-1. The game
Tuesday night in LA or the next game back in Texas may well prove to
be the pivotal game of this series.
Sindelar's 14-year break
How can you not pull for a guy like
Joey Sindelar? He hadn't won a PGA Tour event since 1990. That is
not a misprint!
But, you also had to feel bad for Arron
Oberholser, who was tracking toward his first tour win. He stubbed
his toe a couple of times on the way in, and when his drive found
the woods on 18 it appeared that his collapse was complete. His ball
was nestled near a tree, and Oberholser had to use a funky upright
swing to even make contact with the ball. Not only did he hit it,
but he launched it out of trouble and onto the green. It was a
fantastic shot and it makes golf on TV. From there he 2-putted to
set up Sindelar's playoff heroics.

one they shouldn't have, Cards lose two they shouldn't have…
So, if you're looking for more reasons
why we think the Central Division will be a two-team race (Chicago
and Houston), go no further than this past weekend. The Cubs were
battling rain delays in a game Colorado looked like they had won
twice, but Chicago escaped with an unlikely win.
St. Louis, on the other hand, was in
Montreal (a team mired in their worst start in franchise history)
looking to make hay and possibly prolong their includance near the
top of the division. Someone forgot to tell the Expos that. Instead,
St. Louis looks like they're heading for the middle of the pack, and
the Cubs look like they will battle Houston for the top spot. We
just can't believe that the 'Stros will continue to play this well.
Have a great
