Frances Estes

Frances Mae Estes, 85, died Wednesday (May 12, 2004) at 4:45 a.m. at Maple Ridge Care Centre in Lincoln.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Niblick Cemetery, rural Atlanta, with Pastor Thomas E. Bryant officiating.

Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.

She was born May 28, 1918, in Woodbury, Tenn., to Isaac J. and Dovee Lee Markum. She married Charlie James Estes on March 5, 1949, in Rutherford County, Tenn. He preceded her in death. 

She is survived by one son, Charles E. Estes of Litchfield; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Christine Melton of Readyville, Tenn., and Polly Markum of Woodbury, Tenn.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Leon Markum, and 10 brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Estes was of the Baptist faith.
