[MAY 12, 2004]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership.

Potluck and bingo

Join us Thursday for a special Mother's Day celebration lunch at 11:30 a.m. Bring a dish to pass or a $1 donation. The featured entrees are chicken and noodles and beef and noodles. No reservation is necessary.

Stay for bingo, sponsored by The Oasis, starting at 1 p.m.

Alzheimer support group meets

Thursday at 1 p.m. the support group meets to provide information, support and referral references to help anyone who is a caregiver for an Alzheimer's patient or simply knows someone who needs assistance. No reservation is necessary.

Monthly birthday party

The monthly birthday party is scheduled for May 17 at 1:30 p.m. for all May birthday celebrants and their guests. Join us for an afternoon of entertainment, games, cake and ice cream.

E-mail and Internet class

There are still a few seats available for the computer class on e-mail and Internet, which will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. May 17-21. The fee is $15 for members and $18 for nonmembers. Make your reservation early.

Tuesday lunch, May 18

Pick up your $3.50 lunch ticket by noon Monday to enjoy Tuesday's stuffed peppers lunch, served at 11:30 a.m.


Bernie Haley and Eleanor Barton won weekly pinochle honors, with Wilbur Wilmert and Marie Rogers winning the weekend honors.
